Qantas Airways today announced the purchase of 12 additional 72-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft for its Qantaslink regional subsidiary.  Qantas Airways' CEO Geoff Dixon said existing Dash-8s would retire by 2010, with the move a clear indication of the carrier’s “commitment to regional air services in Australia”.
