Qantas Airways baggage handlers voted yesterday to implement bans on moving passengers luggage in excess of 20 kilograms.

At the moment weight limits are 32 kilograms on domestic services and 40 kilograms on international services, but the union which represents the baggage handlers said the current limit resulted in injuries to nearly 100 handlers.

It’s reported that the ban could come into affect at any time, disrupting the travel plans of thousands of passengers on both domestic and international flights.
