Safety Concerns For The Dreamliner |
Concerns have been raised about the safety of Boeing's next generation 787 Dreamliner. A sacked Boeing engineer has claimed that the revolutionary carbon composite fuselage is more likely to shatter on impact than traditional aluminium designs, and could also produce toxic fumes when ignited. The claims have been rejected by Boeing and Qantas, which has 65 Dreamliners on order with options and purchase rights for another 50. So far the aircraft has passed all safety tests, with further testing to occur throughout the certification period. |
